Taipei Charter Service: Taipei to Yangmingshan Roundtrip

The driver drove a yellow taxi, which we found out was actually a good thing because apparently to get up the mountain you need a special pass but because we were in a taxi, we didn't need that pass. Also, if you drove in with a normal car, you would have to queue to get in the parking lot of each area eg. qingtiangang, xiaoyoukeng etc. If it's full, you need to wait for one car to get out before another one can enter. So you can imagine if you go on a crowded day like weekends (which was the case for us), the queue would be so long and you will need to waste a lot of time just trying to get in. Since we were in a taxi, we could essentially skip the queue as our driver was only going to drop us off then go out again. So this option is actually the best if you want to see yangmingshan without joining a group tour and don't mind not having a guide.

John is my driver and he is punctual. Speaks English well, though we ended up communicating in mostly Mandarin. Initially 6 hrs seemed rather long for the charter but it was very well paced. The charter gives me an ease of mind in spending sufficient time at each sight. John is very friendly and provided me insightful info about the places we drove past and visited. Highly recommended!

This attraction is worth going. Our tour guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. We went to thermal valley and mountain where we saw a lot of buffaloes. They have hot spring in the mountain too but sadly, we didn’t went there. Overall, it is a pleasant experience.

Thank you, driver Peggy, for being very considerate and enthusiastic about introducing us to the sights we passed along the way, and also prepared drinking water and small snacks for us to enjoy on the way.

Our driver was Mr Jiang who was very friendly. We were traveling with a toddler and he brought us to locations in Yangminshan that are stroller friendly yet still scenic. He also bought us to a restaurant that serve mountain vegetables and tasted very sweet and crunchy.
