[Winter Exclusive] Pyeongchang Trout Festival from Seoul | South Korea

We had our ice fishing activity last Feb 9, 2018. This also marks the opening day of winter olympics. Since we are on a budget and tickets for the opening ceremony is quite pricey, we opted for a cheaper activity that still held in the olympics village of Pyeongchang. It is my first time to do fishing, especially on ice! Organizers of this event was really helpful and accommodating to us. Locals taught us how to do fishing even with language barrier though. Still no luck in catching fish. Better luck next time. Haha. A plus point for this activity is that we even witnessed a Olympics Torch Bearing ceremony in the site itself. Lucky!

It’s a wonderful trip. Great driver that save drive and arrive on time. Manage by Lanson that fluent to speak in not just English but also include Chinese and Korean. Pyeongchanf Festival itself doesn’t have mang activities compared to Hwcheon Festival, it just having mini snow sliding for children and some simple activities. Me myself did not catch any trout using my bait thay given by SA Tour. I think the festival itself doesn’t release more trout on that day i guess because i see the other collegues also can’t catch more trout.

It was very cold when I went there in January. I fished on the ice for more than an hour, but Hei Zai didn’t catch any fish. I even had a fall on the ice, but it was a life experience.

It was a great trip. Although I didn’t catch any fish, there were plenty of activities on the ice. I played until I ran out of time. It was a very happy memory.

The weather was very cold but the snow scenery was very beautiful. Although we didn’t catch any trout that day, we had fun playing other rides such as the snow basin and the ice jeep.

It’s quite cold when fishing outdoors, so keep warm. Simple baits are less likely to fall onto fish. Once you find fish, you have to buy additional grilled fish coupons. The fish will be handed over to the staff at a different window and grilled. In addition to fish, there are also other cooked food for sale on site.
