It's very easy to get tickets at the Hakodate Station Tourist Information Office. Worth recommending.

Fast redemption and easy to use. One day city tram can be exchanged at bus station outside. The rest just show the coupon at the ticket counter. Worth every penny!

I used this for a day trip in Hakodate. The City Tram covers most of the major attractions, frequency is every 6-12minutes. Do expect a bit of walking from the tram stop. The points are just nice to redeem entrance ticket to Goryukaku Tower and Ropeway ticket up Mt. Hakodate.

I thought that I can use it for bus, but turns out that it is for tram ticket only. which is not all that convenient
