Alishan Forest Railway & Mianyue Line Beginner Hiking Day Tour in Chianyi (Departure from Chiayi Railway Station) | Taiwan

After planning the event for four months, I finally registered for the Mianyue Line event on October 27 and contacted the terminal. However, I encountered the formation of the "Tami Typhoon" on the platform in October. The many beautiful scenery along the road, the fresh phytoncides, the distance and difficulty of the twenty-kilometer round trip made everyone even more impressed. It was my first time to participate in kkday's one-day activity, and I felt that participating in such a great trip at such a price was "great value for money"! ! ! ! ! ! I was worried after reading kkday reviews before departure, but the driver and guide were very professional and kind. Even though the guide took the same group yesterday and probably walked the same road hundreds of times, there was no sense of burnout in the process and he was very professional for us. He introduced many short stories and little knowledge about the mountains and forests. He also paid attention to the condition of the group members at all times and helped us pass through dangerous sections one by one. It gave us a sense of security! The shuttle bus is also very comfortable, and the driver’s driving skills are superb 👍 Although Mianyue Line is a very simple hiking trip for beginners, for those new to mountaineering and hiking, joining a group led by a guide can not only learn knowledge but is also relatively safe! Mianyuexian is a great hiking experience in the heart of Taiwan’s most treasured national forest parks. It is also one of my first trekking experience’s in Alishan. The unpredictable weather didn’t give us clear skies to enable us to view the mountains, but it gave cool temperatures, rain, mist and fog which created a magical mythical atmosphere throughout the forest! A big thank you and my highest recommendations to our guide (Mr Tsai) for the great experience with stinging plants, the “wild mountain boar”, the tips on what to do when you encounter a Black Bear, showing us the wild “single leaf orchids” and where the fragrant trees and trunks are! Also very grateful for his helpful nature to contact the driver so I could safely retrieve my phone which had slipped out of my pocket in the rear seat of one of the vehicles! Hope to join Mr Tsai in my next Alishan trek!

The shuttle bus and guide were very good, the time was well controlled, and we went down the mountain smoothly before it started to rain. Highly recommended.

The driver and the guide were very attentive in their explanations along the way and were concerned about our situation at any time. Walking along the whole way, even I, who don’t often climb mountains, felt like a fish in water. I highly recommend it to friends who want to relax during a short holiday^^

The weather was cool and it was not too tiring to walk, but because there was no sunshine, the light was not very good for taking pictures~~ It suddenly rained heavily during the last 40 minutes of the return trip! Be sure to bring a light raincoat up the mountain!

It's worth a walk. The tour guide is very good and it's an easy road to walk. The temperature is unexpectedly low. You will feel cold after sitting and resting for a while, so be careful to keep warm.

The team leader Yantu introduced the features and precautions of the Mianyue Line. It is a great railway hiking route. Headlamps and gloves are necessary. The weather was great that day and the scenery was very beautiful. It was a very worthwhile trip. Highly recommended.
